PACE Celebrates 23 Medals in Philippine Culinary Cup 2018!

The prestigious Philippine Culinary Cup (2018)– one of the biggest yearly competitions known for giving Filipino chefs an internationally-recognized platform to hone their culinary skills has closed its curtains, and had its victors determined. It was an arduous journey for all, but only a few took home the gold.

Having friends over the young and budding Professional Academy for Culinary Education (PACE) who also happened to compete there and won, I would like to take this moment to congratulate and celebrate with them over this significant milestone of theirs, and share with you how despite being new and nameless in the industry, they’re quickly catching up to established schools at lightning speed.

More about the Professional Academy for Culinary Education:

PACE is a premier culinary institution dedicated to the advancement of Culinary Education and Entrepreneurship in the Food Service industry with branches in Rizal, Paranaque and Cubao. It has always been PACE’s goal to continue to strive for culinary excellence, all for the benefit of its students and partners in the industry.

They’ve stepped it up a notch vs. traditional culinary schools by integrating entrepreneurship in the core program. This way, students won’t be lost and stumped after completing their chosen course. Instead of chasing big restaurants to try to apply and get a position (which by the way, has cutthroat competition), PACE helps them stand on their own feet by helping them build a business they can call their own.

They offer both short classes and full courses alike (from 1 day up to 2 years), having various programs and activities any aspiring chef can choose from. The following is a summary of their currently offered services:

  • Intensive Culinary, Baking and Entrepreneurship Program – ICE (2 years)
  • Culinary Arts Diploma Course – equivalent to TESDA’s Cookery NCII (1 year, 6 months)
  • Senior High Kitchen Imersion Program – Skip (18 Days)
  • Lifestyle Courses – Savory / Desserts & Pastries (1 day)
  • Start Them Young (5-day summer class)
  • Proserv Consulting – professional advice for your business

That said, PACE has culinary courses for all ages and levels alike. Curious about cooking but don’t know where to start? You can try their one-day Lifestyle Courses, and if doing that somehow sparks a passion in you, you can proceed to taking on their full courses for size.

It’s 2018 and PACE is in its 5th consecutive time of joining the yearly Philippine Culinary Cup, a World Association of Chef Societies (WACS) endorsed competition. They competed in 11 categories represented by 27 professionals and students, winning 5 GOLD, 6 SILVER and 12 BRONZE medals in this highly competitive environment.

Weeks after the big day, PACE celebrated its success over PCC 2018 with friends and partners at One Rockwell West Tower in Makati City. They shared a memorable dinner with their culinary marvels, buffet style! As one of the invited, I also got to learn more about the five dishes that won gold- pretty neat.
