Good day, folks! Just sharing to you guys this item I saw in Lazada that piqued my interest: a selfie ring light for smartphones. Yes- a selfie ring light! It's supposed to be a crappy, little brother version of the expensive ringlights used in both photography and videography. Let's check if it's worth the buy.

Packaging and actual product is cheap. Well, you get what you pay for

But the light it emits is actually pretty good

This circular Selfie Ring Light is small and portable, ready to be clipped on to any type of smartphone. It has an open gap in the lower half of a product to make way for both the front and back cameras of most phones.

Here are its features listed in Lazada:
  • Natural light, brings you a beautify skin
  • Built-in 36 highlight LEDs, can be used as make up lightsource
  • Clamping thickness up to 15mm, compatible with most cellphones
  • Three brightness levels, suitable for different lightconditions
  • Independent power supply, powered by 2 x AAA batteries, the battery is not included
For 200 pesos, it's not too shabby. It will be helpful to those who want to shoot both photos and videos in dark locations. It's not a ring light in a professional sense, but it does what it says it does: provide good lighting for your mobile phone's camera. Here are sample shots showcasing its four brightness levels:

Very nice! The Selfie Ring Light brings far better lighting than most camera flashes, so for those who are constantly in dark locations or if you simply want to improve your photos on-the-go, then the 200 pesos you'll spend on this is worth it. It's cheap, portable, you can use it for both photo and video, it easily clamps on your mobile phone and it has better lighting than your phone's flash- it's a neat and handy accessory.

This is in no way to be compared to the real ring lights, but it's a handy thing to have for casual photographers and vloggers.
