Hi, everyone! Looks like we're well on our way through the season. After watching a couple of episodes of titles with promising plot summaries, I've been able to weed out the good shows from the bad. For Spring 2020, or anime that started airing from March to June, the number stacks to around ninety shows. That's a lot!
So what new anime should YOU watch this season?
Picking only a dozen out of almost a hundred was pretty daunting. Agreed that there's plenty of interesting shows out there that cater to different kinds of people, but due to my other life responsibilities, I can only watch so much.
I made this list because I'm sure you're also busy with IRL stuff- better to have someone else do the grunt work, right? If our tastes match and you enjoy these shows, then great!
Without further ado, here's my Top 15 this season:
NEW ANIME:
The Millionaire Detective: Balance Unlimited

Summary: Daisuke Kambe, the heir to a family of unlimited wealth, joins the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters as a detective. Due to his materialistic upbringing, he solves everything using money regardless of people's feelings. This pisses off Haru Katou, his humane detective partner who values justice above all. But to solve the cases assigned to them, they must put aside each other's ideals and work together.
Wave, Listen to Me!

Summary: Restaurant worker Minare Koda has recently been through a bad breakup. Heartbroken and drunk after a night out, she rants about her misery to a complete stranger—Kanetsugu Matou, a radio station director local to Hokkaido.
The next day at work, Minare is shocked to hear a recording of herself from the previous night playing over the radio. Flustered, she rushes to the radio station in a frenzy to stop the broadcast. As she confronts Matou, a chain of events leads to her giving an impromptu talk live on air, explaining her savage drunken speech. With her energetic voice, she delivers a smooth dialogue with no hesitation, which Matou recognizes as raw talent. Minare soon becomes a late-night talk show host under Matou's direction, covering amusing narratives set in Sapporo, all while balancing her day job and personal life to make ends meet.
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!

Reincarnated as the game's villainess doomed to be killed or exiled regardless what route the player takes, she must now take countermeasures to try and avoid things going the same way as the game. This, however, ends up having unexpected consequences on her relations with the other characters of the game's world.
Sing "Yesterday" for Me

Summary: Rikuo Uozumi has all but resigned himself to a bleak future, aimlessly working at a convenience store in Tokyo after graduating from college. His monotonous life is interrupted when the peculiar Haru Nonaka makes a lively appearance, frequently dropping by his workplace to befriend him.
When Rikuo learns that an old college friend and crush, Shinako Morinome, has moved back into town, he reaches out to further their relationship. Unbeknownst to him however, Shinako is carrying painful memories from her past that were holding her back from accepting his feelings. Meanwhile, as Haru continually opens up to Rikuo, he discovers that she, much like him, is living by herself and wants to step out of her comfort zone into an uncertain future.
The past lingers long in the mind, and the future remains elusive. At a crossroads along their intertwined paths, these three experience what it means to let go of their feelings of yesterday and embrace the change that tomorrow brings.

Summary: Yoru is a boy who has spent most of his life trapped beneath a vast and mysterious tower having only his close friend Rachel to keep him company.
Rachel decides to leave him and climb the tower in pursuit of having a wish fulfilled, but Yoru manages to open the door and follow her. Determined to see her again, he is faced with tests on each floor of the tower as he climbs it.
Gleipnir

Summary: Shuichi Kagaya is a high school student with an unusual secret: he has the ability to transform into a monster resembling a giant dog mascot costume with a zipper down his back and a large cartoonish smile.
After rescuing a strange girl named Claire Aoki from a warehouse fire while transformed, she blackmails him by threatening to expose his secret if he doesn't help her find her sister who also happens to be someone who can transform.
Kakushigoto: My Dad's Secret Ambition

Summary: Kakushi Goto draws ecchi manga for a living. Worried that such a strange profession would alienate his young daughter Hime away from him, he does everything he can to keep that secret from her- even going as far as dressing up like a salaryman for work. In time, Hime must learn the reality behind the things she took for granted as she grew up.
Appare-Ranman!
Japanese: 天晴爛漫!

Summary: It's the 19th century and near the start of the Meiji era in Japan. Due to a wild turn of events, eccentric Japanese inventor Appare Sorano finds himself stranded in Los Angeles along with respected samurai Kosame Ishikki.
With no money or plans, they decide to participate in the "Trans-America Wild Race," which gives Appare the chance to build his dream automobile, and Kosame the opportunity to use the cash prize to return home. However, against rival racers and unknown challenges residing in the wilderness, just how far will this adventure take them?

Summary: A show having characters based on real-life Japanese writers. Here, Takuboku Ishikawa and Kyosuke Kindaichi decide to run a private detective agency, solving cases to make ends meet.

Summary: Student council president Miyuki (the top in his class) and vice-president Kaguya (daughter of a wealthy conglomerate family) obviously have feelings for one another, but their pride and ego prevent them from admitting it. And so they constantly play a game of "How to get the other to confess their love first." Love is War- a romantic comedy that follows a cunning warfare between two elite students in love.
A Certain Scientific Railgun T S3

Summary: In the futuristic Academy City where most of the population are espers possessing unique psychic powers, electromaster Mikoto Misaka is the third strongest among the seven Level 5 espers.
The series focuses on the exploits of Mikoto and her friends; Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu, and Ruiko Saten, prior to and during the events of A Certain Magical Index.
Food Wars! The Fifth Plate S5
Japanese: 食戟のソーマ 豪ノ皿 / Shokugeki no Soma: Gou no Sara
Genre: Ecchi, School, Shounen, Cooking | Studio: J.C.Staff
Summary: Soma and friends enter into their second year. Several of the members in the Fall Classic have been promoted into the council, replacing the graduating third year batch.
Their first assignment concerns about the existence of dark chefs- those who work with criminal organizations and other VIPs. One particular group is Les Cuisiniers Noirs, a group led by Joichiro's former protege Asahi Saiba who was able to defeat him before- a feat not to be taken lightly.
Fruits Basket! S2

Summary: A year has passed since Tooru Honda began living in the Souma residence, and she has since created stronger relationships with its inhabitants Shigure, Kyou, and Yuki. She has also grown closer to the rest of the Souma family and has become familiar with their ancestral secret, having helped them with many of their personal issues. The closer Tooru gets, however, the more she begins to realize that their secret holds a darker truth than she first presumed.

Ahiru no Sora
Japanese: あひるの空
Genre: Comedy, Sports, Drama, School, Shounen | Studio: Diomedéa
Summary: Lacking what is considered the most important asset in basketball, Sora Kurumatani has struggled with his short height since he started loving the sport. Despite this handicap, his unwavering drive never allowed his small stature to dictate his ability to play, believing strongly in trying his hardest and persistently practicing to prove his capability.
He promised to his sickly mother: "I will dominate my first high school tournament". But as he joins the basketball club after entering Kuzuryū High School, he finds out that it's become a stomping ground for delinquents. But through Sora's genuine zeal for basketball, things begin to stir.
